Build quality: So far the device is quite well made. It feels heavier than the original Q2n and the buttons are even better in comparison. It's hard to explain, but it makes the Q2n feel cheap because it feels more durable, even though they share a very similar design. Accessories: The windscreen of the previous model can also be set to 4K. Just make sure you mount the lens hood (included) in front of the windshield to prevent fur getting on the lens itself. Keep in mind that on a windy day outdoors, this almost guarantees that the windshield will be in the lens' field of view. This really helps, especially if you want the ceiling fan to spin up in the same room you're recording video with this camera. The lens hood and lens cap on the older Q2n are not compatible with the 4K model. There is a microphone stand adapter. Audio: I just want to touch on this briefly because if you set it to the highest quality, Windows computers can have problems with it and not play any audio at all. I'm not sure if it's a driver/codec issue, but Mac users won't have this problem. iPad and iPhone users will not have this problem either. All other sound settings below the highest work fine for Windows users. Zoom has the best sound from a small camera I've ever heard. File Type: This is .MOV and brought to you Apple users and runs in iMovie without any problem. Q2n is the same if you want to know. Audio line-out: There's no mention of doubling the headphone jack as a line-out, but I managed to do it. It doesn't say so on either model, but both the Q2n and Q2n-4K work if I turn "Power On" off in the settings, and it was as clear as my Zoom H2n recorder I normally use for it. . [I'm referring to using the cameras as a microphone to capture games, with audio streaming directly to my capture device]. You can use the headphone jack for headphones as usual and it has a volume control. Plug In Power is for external mics that need power to work as you can plug them into any Q2n model that bypasses the built in XY mics. The cameras also have a separate 3.5 mm microphone input directly below the headphone jack. .SD Card and Recording Time: (with Max Audio) This camera can hold up to 256GB Micro SDXC card and records in continuous recording mode when using XC. Only to stop when the map is full or you stop yourself. If you use SDHC (capacity up to 32GB), the files will be split every 4GB. 128GB Card: 4K30/24fps=3hr 31min 1080p60fps=5hr 9min 1080p30/24fps=9hr 51min 720p30fps=20hr 50min Camera out 96k24bit WAV Audio=61hr 42 mins (highest quality) I formatted my own card in the device to get these numbers. Video bitrate up to 76Mbps which is probably 4K mode and I can't verify if it's constant or variable. Lens: 150 degree wide angle fixed focus fisheye lens. f2.8/15.2mm. I saw a comment where they (Zoom) replied that it was 16 megapixels, although I don't see that anywhere on the site. Read more: Runs on 2AA batteries, and lithium is recommended as they last much longer. Recording times with different battery types are listed on the Zooms website. You can power your device from a USB power adapter and eliminate the need for AA batteries altogether. The lens has a 150-degree field of view, while the older Q2n has 160. The Q2n's lens is easily swappable, but I'm not sure about that yet. The Q2n-4K is not stabilizer compatible and does not offer any type of image stabilization. There is no optical zoom as it is fully digital and has 5 presets. There is no photo option. Of course you can always take a screenshot, but it can easily be added in a firmware update. Keep in mind they never added this to the previous model. Same small screen. I wish they had the option to turn off the selected settings shown on the screen so the image fills the viewing area. The camera's view is so small that the current settings interfere. Thank you for reading! Even if you already have Q2n, it's definitely worth upgrading. 4K camera with digital recorder and microphone! Plug in another microphone, listen live with headphones, and even HDMI out to your TV/portable monitor while recording. Why not? At the current price of 199 euros, you can't go wrong with it. Full video review hopefully soon on my Para-holiX YT channel. Then just ask questions. I may be missing something as it can be found on the Zoom website.*Edit A 55 minute 1080p/60fps file also takes up 25GB with audio maxed out.*UpdateIf your video is blurry, it could be the device that play them. the back. If it's not the device, we have a video with YT/Para-holiX that shows you how to change lenses and refocus if that's your problem. We also shot a video of the previous Q2n.
