This monitor was great from start to finish until I owned it for about a month. I'm an illustration/photographer and I really wanted something that could match my Macbook Pro in terms of color reproduction. For the premium price this monitor is asking, I am very disappointed. There is a noticeable bruise at the top of my monitor, especially on whites and grays. This is my first time buying a Dell product. This is also the first time I have had to return something in this price range. Again very, very disappointed in Dell. --- 4/19/16 Well, time to downgrade this villain to a star. The icing on the cake of this poop ice cream is Dell's notoriously terrible customer service. In truth, this is one of the worst customer service experiences in my thirty years, and I feel like this has only just begun. As I did not return this monitor within a random 30 day window (unfortunately I need the monitor for work) I have to exchange my new albeit faulty monitor for a refurbished one. I had to wait over forty minutes in front of this beautiful piece of shit while an overseas agent "worked on my case." this review. In particular, the abundance of hot pixels (seriously, hundreds of them) and total lack of color uniformity. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Dell like the plague. --- UPDATE 4/21/16 My RMA was delayed/cancelled because I purchased through Revain. Also, Dell customer service didn't have my original date of purchase on file (which I actually gave them many times when I first called them). ---UPDATED 04/27/16. Received a refurbished monitor. No stuck/dead pixels (yet) and thankfully no weird bruising when viewing pure white. So it's already a better monitor than the one I had before. However, it should be noted that there is still a severe lack of color uniformity. Gray uniformity is definitely the weak point of this monitor. Much brighter in the center and very different from edge to edge. Compared to my 4 year old Thunderbolt display, the UP2716D looks like a budget IPS. This may be because Dell insists on sending me a repair. Who knows. Thankfully, there's no black light distortion, and overall blacks are very pleasing and consistent. However, white/gray levels are not what I expected from such a premium monitor. The whites also have an odd red tint as mentioned in another review so given the flaws as well as the cost and terrible customer service I still can't bring myself to give this one anything but two stars. -- UPDATE 10/05/162 stars for Dell, 5 stars for this monitor. I had enough time to realize that what I got was just a lemon. Dell customer support, while terrible and over the top, was still able to fix the error. This is just an amazing monitor. Beautiful, bright (but balanced) colors and a wide color gamut make editing really easy.
