I bought this for a (large-sized) cat with significant fur loss and fragile skin. This was not only a good fit (size down from the chart though, it runs large) but its construction felt very safe--the stitching and seams don't have rough edges like other onesies I've gotten for him, and the fabric, though not particularly thick, is gentle with a good solid weave. If you're getting it for a cat, the neck is going to be a bit wide, which I dealt with by (carefully) safety pinning the collar into a narrower opening. Overall, I was very satisfied with this--and this became everyone's favorite outfit on the kitty, too!
