Review on πŸ₯€ THERMOS 12 Ounce Stainless Steel Beverage Can Insulator for Can Drinks by Jay Matlock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome can be cooler! And the solution for those with sticking problems is to remove the label

Bought 20 of these 10 years ago. There are now 5 left after friends have "borrowed" them over the years. During this time I tried to find replacements on auction sites but to no avail. Then I see them on the day sale here last week and I'm double closing - they must have brought them back in response to Rambler's Yeti. My answer is surprising: Bought >>50<<! Yes, 50-40 on the first order and 10 more after thinking about it a bit. Blissful! Smaller and easier to use than the Yeti Rambler, although the Yeti can keep contents cold longer. It does keep it cold after the glass is flat though, so hmmm. However, the Yeti is better suited to bottles β€” it's really only made for 12-ounce cans. But for glasses, it's best in terms of size and ease of use. Fits perfectly in the drink coasters in my car and has no screw top to fiddle with. Just come in and have a drink. And MUCH cheaper to buy. Despite all that, I give it a five star rating with 10 years of use to back it up. Now for the sticking problem that some people are seeing. After buying 50 I could see why: some have weak adhesive labels all the way around the back of the label. Others only glued the ends of the label (like tin cans). The first time it comes off wonderfully - no problem. In the latter case, the adhesive is so strong that it sticks like solder to stainless steel. Maybe it's a packaging error that has been fixed. But for those unhappy with badly stuck labels, remove the rubber ring at the top of the radiator and soak the bottom in rubbing alcohol (I used 90% but 70% should work) to remove those stuck to the glue. After a minute or two, wipe off the adhesive with a soft plastic sponge and/or paper towel. This takes some time and you may have to repeat the soaking/wiping cycle a few times (and make sure the towel/scraper is designed not to scratch the stainless steel). It doesn't seem to work on the first try, but after a few minutes the alcohol is acting like a champ. Hope that helps! Worth it. Cooler is awesome.
