This is a very soft and elastic leather if it is real leather. The copy says it's skin on the outside and it really does look like it with all the stretch marks, but I've never felt skin so soft before. Inside is something like nylon. I assume that's what they call Oxford cloth, but no doubt it's plastic. Otherwise I really like this backpack/handbag. The straps are adjustable, but they tend to slip a little after you adjust them. I always have to make it a little smaller. This thing has pockets for everything. In the open pocket on the outside I can put my phone and on the other side I will put a small bottle of hand sanitizer. Those are the things I can grab while the bag is on my back. Has a front zip pocket and two side pockets. They are not big and unfortunately my phone is too big to fit in one of these cases. However, it fits in my small ID pocket. When I go somewhere where I'm dying to have secure things, I zip them into an inside pocket that sits snugly on my back when you wear them. The zippers seem to be quite well made. One metal for decoration, the rest is white plastic. Inside is a small zippered pocket that easily fits business cards or folded bills. Here I can store my iPad, a change of clothes for my daughter and a drink as well as my wallet. It's not big, but big enough for all the basics. It comes with an extra strap so you can wear it crossbody, but I don't see anyone ever doing that. If I don't want to carry it all the way, I can just throw one of the backpack straps over my shoulder. Like most backpacks, it has a top handle for easy picking up or hand carrying. In general I use and enjoy. It's light (which also makes me think it might not be real leather) and leather (or not), I love it.
