First of all I would like to say that this is our SECOND pair. The first pair were too small and my 6 year old outgrew them in just a few months. So this time we did the math. She wears 2-2 1/2 in regular shoes so we picked 3 with this pair and are very happy. Second, trust me, buy velcro for younger girls. My daughter has them on and is ready to dance twice as fast as the other girls in her class as they try to tie their shoelaces. Overall we are happy and will buy this pair again if we need a size up again.
