I have a 4-6 lb Yorkshire Terrier that refuses to swim in the lake. This jacket allowed us to expose him to water without stressing him too much and I wasn't worried about him getting hurt or anything. The top handle is very handy for holding and rocking, as well as for lifting out of the water and back into the boat. It's a bit long for him, but he's so small that we often encounter this problem. I've read in previous reviews that underbody clamps have caused problems for men, but we've never had any problems.
