Great for playing old games on HDTV!

I bought this device because I wanted to keep playing my old games (like Dreamcast, Playstation 1 and 2, Nintendo 64, Genesis and SNES) on my HDTV. The problem was that my HDTV, like many HDTVs, had severe "game lag". Game lag occurs when your HDTV is busy converting legacy signals (such as RF, composite, and S-Video cables) to HD 480, 720, and 1080p quality. You might not notice it while watching a movie on DVD, but try playing a fighting game or a rhythm game and it's a frustratingly out-of-time mess. You have no lags in the game. No "you press a button on your controller and in about half a second your character reacts". The menu is easy to navigate, if a bit slow. It works via a VGA cable, so make sure that 1) your TV has a VGA port. 2) BUY a separate 15-pin male to male VGA cable (this cable is not included) and 3) make sure your TV can switch between normal and widescreen display modes. Mine can set that and this unit to 640x480 resolution S-Video makes my PS1 and 2 games look great. So those who are frustrated that they can't play old games on their HDTV due to game lag, GET THIS DEVICE, it fixes that so you can play your games on any HDTV with a VGA port!
