Last week I used a pair of Nobby Nic 2.25s in an ultramarathon (Brasil Ride). The terrain is mostly dry with lots of sand, sharp rocks and some technical sessions with slippery rocks. These tires proved ideal for such tough conditions - not a single flat tire in 7 days, 400 miles and climbing over 30,000 feet. You can climb the wall and get stuck in the ground on the descent. The trade-off is the extra effort to stay in the field in the less technical sessions, but that's not like trying to catch the field after a flat tire.
