I've used metal markers in the past and these pearlescent markers/pens are basically the same - shake, squeeze the tip a few times to get the ink flowing, done. But these are much tougher. The results on white and black differ - sometimes inconspicuously, with the "white/color changer" even 100% (it looks blue on white paper). Gel pens really remind me of lipstick - rich, even colors. Twisting the end will squeeze the gel out. When it comes to art, I am "me". I can detail paint decently, use metal and pearlescent markers/pens to add highlights (did a good job last year detailing a replica carousel horse) and finish cosplay props. But ask me to create a portrait or a landscape and you will have something your child would laugh at. I appreciate quality materials and I like it. The pens/markers are easy to use and the ink/gel flow is smooth. There is a good selection of paper including several origami sheets, mother of pearl sheets and textured cards. The kit also includes a 4 Mage Guide with instructions, origami ideas and design ideas for your wall using the materials included. Paper with bright light and without, as well as on white paper.
