I started this with my 2 gentlemen (1.5 years and 5 months) and everything is going well. No more soft poo. The puppy loves it. However, she loves everything, so this is not uncommon. A 1.5 year old will need persuasion, but that's not uncommon either, as they seem to think a diet of treats would be the best option. My 2 slopes are like this. First, the food itself is very solid. I feel like they hurt if they eat too fast. My 1.5 year old sometimes flinches when chewing. I mix his food with soft food to soften it up a bit. Number 2. I'm really not on the grain-free bandwagon. The canned food I mix is NOT grain free. As the pup acclimates better I will start adding it to their food as well. The vet said they absolutely need the grain, it's necessary for a healthy heart. Since Cavaliers are notorious for heart problems anyway, I don't want to create a completely new feed. I will continue to use this food as it eliminates loose stools, eliminates itchy ears and hopefully relieves allergies and itching. Overall very satisfied.
