The solar house number sign is clearly visible from the street when first switched on. The numbers are pretty easy to position using the included instructions. My problem with this unit is finding a spot that gets a lot of sun and is also visible from the street. My house has wide spotlights that shade the top of my exterior wall by about 3 feet. If I place this license plate low enough to be exposed to the sun for any length of time, it will be difficult to see from the road. For this reason I deduct 1 star. Revain offers similar devices that can be mounted on a stand that can be mounted away from the wall of the house. The result is better sun exposure and better visibility from the road. A professional can easily make a similar T-shaped bracket for this solar license plate.
