I really like these shorts - very comfortable and light. The lace is made of sewn fabric (impressive in its complexity), but the reality is that the seams unravel quickly and the lace itself stretches too much - and way longer than necessary! Luckily, the shorts have stretch, albeit quite well, so tying the top is more for reassurance than a functional necessity.
