Review on Portable Normatec Go Dynamic Compression Device For Calf Muscles By Hyperice by Michael Swanson

Great compression, fits thick calves

This Hyperice Normatec Go Portable Dynamic Air Compression device for calves works fantastic. The therapy delivery is great, and it is very well targeted to increase circulation. The adjustable timer and intensity settings give you flexibility for a short or long massage, and a low to height compression, which is great for anyone looking for a more intense massage and those who are more sensitive to pain. The two individual compression sleeves each have a rechargeable controller, which controls the intensity and timer settings; it also individually controls the Bluetooth pairing so you can control your device through your phone (but you don’t have to use the Bluetooth or app if you choose not to). Additionally each controller has indicators for pattern power remaining, which also blink while charging like a power bank normally would, as well as numeric indicators for the timer and intensity level settings. The instructions for setup are easy to follow and are well laid out to get you started right away; however, there isn’t much instruction on how to properly wear the sleeve to get the best results. Unfortunately, there are no carrying bags for these, they slim enough to where you should be able to travel with them easily. Along with the compression sleeves you also get a wall plug with two USB ports to charge both sleeves at the same time, and the sleeps charge through USB C cables, making it universally compatible with many charging devices, but I would suggest to only use the power adapter that is included. The price is what appears to be on the high end, but what you get is also very profesional and higher end quality, so the value for the money is there. The massage is comfortable for me, but could be perceived as a little aggressive, even on the lower end of the intensity as two factors play in the compression force, which are the intensity setting, but also how tight you initially set up the sleeve. I found that you don’t want to wear these like compression socks, you’ll want to leave a little space especially if you are suffering from a lot of pain, use the lowest intensity and don’t over-tighten the sleeves. That being said, if you are looking for higher compression, you can always just increase the intensity, and trust me l, you’ll get a lot more pressure than you bargain for. For reference, the device compresses there regions of your calve region, and through a series of compressions and decompressions, it stimulates your blood flow and reduces pain. You’ll need to play with the settings to get the best result for you. A level 3/9 was enough for me to consider going any higher and would become painful, but that is subjective.Pros:- Good quality and durable materials- Easy to slip on and adjust to size- Very comfortable to wear and easy to use- No need to use the Bluetooth and App options, but it is a great addition to the functionality- Relieves pain and gives the sensation of improved blood flow- Long battery life with fast charging times- USB C charging compatibility- Slim and light weight for easy portability- Extends easily to fit larger and thicker calvesCons:- No travel/carry case or bag- Pricey- Instructions are good for setup, but lacking a little on functionality and use.Overall, this portable calves auto-compression therapy device is very good. The price is steep, but also the quality is very high end, so you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a high quality, professional grade, intuitive, and easy to use air compression device with portability to massage your calves, and you are okay with high price tag, then these would definitely be for you.
