Review on ISC Racers Tape HT2128 Transparent by Robert Abdi

I've bought a couple of used bikes that have this thing fitted and it's amazing how much it protects the frame. I recently bought a new bike and buying a roller wasn't a problem. myself. Almost $25 (after tax) for just 12 feet of this stuff, it's pretty expensive. I was a bit frustrated as the instructions basically told me to "experiment, see what works" instead of giving links to videos or something, but I digress. The first piece I cut was just over a foot long to replace a piece on the chainstays of an old bike. When I got to the last 3 inches of the ribbon the backing came off leaving a large white spot in the center of the ribbon that couldn't be repaired, I had to either rip off the last foot of ribbon and start over or leave that one huge white spot in the middle of the band. Luckily it came on a white bike and you couldn't tell without looking after I smoothed everything out. to protect the cable from chafing and then decided I was ready to protect the downtube of my beautiful sage green new bike. I cut a 3.5ft piece of tape (worth $8), straightened it out very carefully and started smoothing it out, I got to the last 3 inches of tape and it happened again, not on one this time white bike, and it's very noticeable. Having ridden this thing in place for a couple of weeks now, I've also noticed that it's starting to peel off the edges, ooze dirt, and then everything breaks. embossed by themselves are too sticky - they have picked up dirt and dust and won't let go even after a good soapy bath, now I have this yellowed dirty looking dip tube with a big white spot on it, I won't be ordering the tape again, I will have one try other brand if i'm willing to apply again, for the money these problems are unacceptable. I'll readily admit that maybe it was a bad batch, maybe it's been on the shelf too long, but there's no indication on the reel when it was made, who made it, what the expiration date is, nothing. what can you expect from such an expensive roll of tape, even tape has this mark on each roll.
