I love these opening Christmas trees. We ordered this as our old custom wood we used for the front screen fell apart after 20 years. I tried to fix it a few times but the old tree's foundation was crumbling and it weighed over 50 pounds. too heavy for me We looked online for a few different popup trees and decided to give this one a try as the colors and images looked great. Came in a reusable storage bag in a box. Although we bought after Christmas we wanted to make sure we liked it. boy were we lucky We liked the shape, color and decorations. We also believe that flocking really adds value to wood. It only took a few minutes to set up and connect and everything worked great. A few points to keep in mind: 1. The flock will fall off and create a mess when attaching and removing. This applies to any flocked wood, so the product doesn't bother us. 2. Yes, you can see the center post a little bit, but that goes for real or faux wood as well. 3. It's a bit tricky to get the top cleat in the right position exactly, so I recommend inserting the top cleat into the top of the tree first, and then inserting the top cleat into the foundation cleat. This way seemed to work better. 4. The zipper of the bag gets caught on excess fabric and sticks. This is my only complaint about the product. We had old tree decorations that we wanted to add; but we found that we liked the wood as it is and it no longer needed decoration. Although I think I can use my big bow on top as the one that comes doesn't stand out that much but I'll work it out next year. Finally, we like the lighting on the tree. We're light people so I was willing to add more light if needed, but for now we think wood is fine as it is. I can add more next year if I change my mind. All in all, I look forward to creating this simple tree in the years to come. Worth every penny.
