I painted my computer desk from a dark dark brown to a natural wood color and it seems like the change made the whole room a little lighter . I've never done this before and I'm amazed at how easy it was to cut and paste the movie. Adhesion seems spot on; It sticks, but if you make a mistake, it's easy to remove and reapply. The only downside I noticed is that the paper isn't completely opaque. Areas where the foil overlaps are slightly lighter than areas with a single layer of foil. Therefore, it may appear slightly darker on a dark surface than on a lighter surface.
