Summary A smart bracelet performs the main functions that people buy fitness trackers for. I wore it on one wrist for a few days and the Fitbit Charge 4 on the other wrist. I've worn both while walking, brisk walking, showering and sleeping. I've listed some of the similarities and differences between these two trackers below. Details: The Smart Band (SB) is thicker than the Fitbit Charge 4 (FC4) and at 39g weighs more than the FC4 (28g). Differences in size and weight were not noticeable when worn. I have a wide bone but the FC4 tape was in the middle holes and only two holes left on the SB. Watch out for people with thick wrists. SB constantly monitored 80% of what FC4 was doing. For example, if I were to take a walk that FC4 measured as 5000 steps and 2.25 miles, SB would report 4000 steps and 1.8 miles. I can't determine how many steps I'm taking, but I've calibrated the FC4 for known distances. SB has been consistent in its reports so will work to provide the user with comparable results from one workout to the next. The SB's display is crisp and colourful. It is significantly more attractive and visible than the FC4. Both use weird USB chargers that have to be replaced at the factory if lost. I prefer the layout and organization of the SB (iOS) FC4 app. None of them come with proper instructions. Both were pretty easy to understand. SB reports both heart rate and blood pressure. In FC4 only XP. Both warn that these are not medical devices and should not be relied upon. The BP reported by SB seemed accurate to me. XP wasn't. After running faster, when I compared my increased heart rate, SB reported that I was 88 bpm. FC4 reported 125 bpm. My finger on my throat indicated the FC4 was correct. Both indicate 60 to 50 beats per minute at rest. Both options are correct. FC4 reports total calories. SB (I think) reports a total overrun. After running 2 miles I now have 200 calories at 2pm. I have 1700 on the FC4. The FC4 reports sleep better because it accepts waking times that the sleeper doesn't normally remember. SB disables sleep on first light awakening. FC4 reports excessive fluctuations in serum O2 saturation. SB not. Both have minor additional features such as SB find my phone working via Bluetooth which I will not report on in order to keep this review reasonable. Both will perform their primary comparison tracking function well enough for any weekend warrior.
