The item I received was scratched. I did not use any sharp objects to open the package or box. The product is SUPER tight. It took me 15 minutes to put it on and I had another brand for my 15" MacBook Pro before I got this 16" case which I had to put on and take off very often so I know how to covers. too heavy! I learned that you need to secure the bottom of the display first, then continue with the three clips at the top. It's super heavy to the point where I was afraid of breaking the LCD screen, but it eventually fit. I was convinced it wasn't for me and was about to give up as I couldn't catch the last one. It fits perfectly but I'm afraid to take it off again. A scratch bothers me more than I thought, but I don't want to do it again.
