I love the build quality. In general, the sound is not bad. I'm also very impressed with its range. Yes, the age range is from 3 to 12 years old. I would only recommend it for older children. My son is almost four years old and loves it. It's a good tool for learning coordination, it's fun. Unfortunately, children are not so gentle with toys. It's not that my son throws it, but that he often drops it; ergo, the batteries fail too easily or the clip falls off. Resetting is easy, but constantly fixing it is quite a hassle. If you don't mind putting it back together or your child is sensitive, go for it.
