This stone set is quite good. This is by no means a professional set, but it is powerful enough to sharpen the blade well. The biggest problem I found with them was that they weren't flat. I expected that when I ordered them. The price was a good indication that this might be the case. The kit includes a leveling stone, so you will need to do a little work with the stones before using them. It's not difficult, and it's something you should learn before hand-sharpening a blade. You will need to repeat this at some point in the stones life. I recommend them for beginners and experienced freehand sharpening enthusiasts. They're cheap enough not to break the bank, and they give you a good taste of spiciness.
