This is a classic case of skimping on a product in the hopes that nobody will notice. Supposedly in an effort to cut costs and increase profits, P&G decided to turn traditional Glide tape into a thin thread that would become brittle and fall apart. I have compared the thread I recently bought with the same thread from a previous purchase and the difference is clear. In the attached photo, the upper thread Glide Comfort Plus, comparable in width to the old version of Glide Deep Clean, is in the middle. . The "new" version is meanwhile much narrower. This makes it easy to fall apart. I only noticed that recently when I couldn't explain why the thread broke every time.
