I definitely like the idea of hardwiring and have experience installing DVRs and the like. There are no instructions included with this kit and while I knew what I was doing it might not have been as easy for others without experience with a tee or safety tap. Inside the box was a small plastic bag with Velcro closure and a T-tap. If you don't know what a T-Tap is, you can watch a YouTube video that shows how to connect the T to a power cord. I'm not a big fan of the T-Tap as you need some electrical knowledge and maybe a voltmeter to find a live wire. If you look under the dash and behind the center console, you'll see literally hundreds of color-coded wires going in different directions. So which one do you associate with? That's why I like to use a safety tap. It's much easier and no guesswork. This kit is not included, but you can get it for less than $10 at any auto parts store. Just make sure you get one that matches the panel fuses. Also, the velcro doesn't stick to any surface I've tried installing the control box on.
