later 2 of them had dangling parts and a few small scratches on the matte finish inside. No damage to the boxes or the outside of the bulb, just loose items hidden inside. Is it safe to even try? The other 4 were clean and didn't rattle, so these 2 are obviously broken. And I wonder how fragile the rest is. Why are there small fragile parts inside the LED lamp? Is it a poor design or extremely sloppy production? I have been using LED bulbs for many years and they have always been very reliable. I decided to call 1-800-LIGHTBULB as listed on the packaging for each individual bulb. Why not? I felt like an adventurer. After briefly selecting a few menu options to make sure I don't want to talk about anything other than a word that's basically written on the phone number I'm calling, the hold begins. Of course, they "experience a higher call volume than usual". It's a mathematical axiom as no 800 number has ever experienced less than normal call volume or even normal call volume so I don't know why they bother to point out the universal truth. In any case, I decided to continue on hold to speak to someone. And that's the 800 number that just hangs up exactly 10 minutes later. So I think I'll be making a regular old replacement with Revain. As promised, they donate sun protection. I don't know what their CRI rating should be, but that seems good too. I've seen better ones but they seem above average given the price. The downside of this whole series, like many LED manufacturers, is that they insist on only offering 2700K (warm) or 5000K (cold) color temperatures. There is no neutral option.
