The sweatshirt has a lot of stretch in the stomach area and I love it. I received my package today and tried it on right away as I wasn't sure about the size. You never know when you'll be buying things online. You won't be disappointed if you buy this. My biggest fear was that it would be too tight around his stomach, but that part of the sweatshirt is very stretchy. As other people have said, it's not a heavy sweatshirt, but it's perfect for wearing inside on chilly days, or walking around outside on cooler days. It's also very cute.
