Review on ART TubeMPSTV3 Variable Valve Voicing ๐ŸŽจ Tube Mic Preamp With Limiter - Enhancing SEO by Laura Hughes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Here is a very interesting device. Worth a look.

So, based on my purchase history, Revain sent me a recommendation for an ART TubeMPSTV3 mic pre with adjustable tube and limiter. Read, think and spit. I have an MXL Revelation tube mic that I use primarily for vocals and it works perfectly. It has a tube and produces a tube sound that some of us enjoy when singing. I also have a box full of Shure Beta 58A microphones, some of which I have used for over 40 years. You can drive nails with them and they will still work. I'm used to the vocal quality I get from Shure mics. I thought so, mmm. I wonder how Shure would sound if it was a "tube" mic? Well, now I know. The ART arrived with a faulty UV meter (which seems to be a recurring problem as I've read about faulty meters in other reviews), but I wanted to test it, so I hooked it up to a Shure mic on the desktop stand connected on the right side. Mixer. And I have to tell you that the Shure sounded like a tube mic. I ran at least a dozen tests, five of which were done with the MXL. Art didn't change the sound of the MXL very much, but it did change the Shure, and I really liked how it came out. In fact, through ART I liked the Shure more than the MXL. I will probably order again and hope to get it with a working volume meter. I heard a low hum. It has a reverse polarity button which helped. But it was on the MXL control box, and I'm pretty sure part of that came from Art. This requires a mains transformer, which is included in the kit. Another wire. Another plug. But overall I think I liked it. I can put the MXL on a mic stand. Take him away from my table. (It has a lot of hardware) and use it for multi-singer vocals. The MXL has omni, bi and cardioid characteristics and is suitable for a ground microphone. Shure with ART is a great desktop microphone.
