Review on Dimmable Recessed Retrofit Downlight with Selectable Options by Joseph Hall

These are well designed and clean finished LED lights. We replaced the 6" recessed lights with these. In our setup we had to leave the metal cans in place (they can't be removed because they are connected to a power source). The LED lights are attached with little "spiders". Supplied with legs stretched to conform to the inner wall of existing cans. Small loops are bent on the legs, making it easier to install the lights, but they will slip off under the weight of the LED bulb! There isn't enough tension in the legs and without a pointed end they won't stand still.I finally managed to slip a couple of legs through the narrow slits in the jars and that was enough to hold them in place but that was it last resort. We tried other jury changes but the slots were the only ones that worked. Other than that, installing mounts is easy - just pick the temperature range you're in screw the standard bracket and lift the unit. Just be prepared to tinker with them a bit to keep them in place!
