Do not follow the manufacturer's instructions.

I like it, it's much more pleasant to clean up my garbage. I removed the door as my cats didn't like it. I would buy another. Tip: put a colander under 1 basket and in another. This way you just throw said rubbish away and don't have problems with clumps of urine getting stuck in the strainer.
