My friend was very skeptical at first. I gave them to him so that he would have well-lined, moisture-wicking socks for our upcoming outdoor adventures, but when he touched them he politely indicated that I would be crazy if I found them suitable for summer. They seem so thick and durable that he thought he was overheating, but the material is actually very breathable and he came to his senses after just trying them out at work for a day. He was pleasantly surprised that his feet stayed cool and dry all day, and he appreciated the extra cushioning and reinforced toes. Not only do they really repel moisture, they also really repel odors. They've performed great on the hikes and hikes we've taken, but he still wears them to work and almost any other time when they're clean and finds them comfortable in all weathers.
