The fasteners broke after 5 trips.
I have used them on about 5 trips and they have been kept in an air conditioned room. Someone came up to look at my horse and as I rode over my drawing, one of the bars broke completely in half. As my horse stopped, I dismounted on the other side just before I snapped. I absolutely cannot recommend these reins. This is a huge security risk.
