Doesn't clean as hoped

I bought this to peel carrots, cucumbers etc to avoid making a mess on my cutting board, but the vegetable peeler function is practically useless. The problem lies in the blade construction. I'll admit I haven't tried the grater or chopper so I'm hoping to get lucky with this one, but that's not really why I bought it. The quality seems good and I like the idea but not the execution. :(
