I bought these for my toddler because I wanted us to be able to leave behind something that wouldn't cloud her sensitive ears or cause infection. These earrings were good for the first few weeks and then my daughter's ears were CONSTANTLY caked and red. I took them out after a month and saw that the inner post was clearly rusting and tarnishing (see photo). No wonder it hasn't healed despite brushing your teeth at night! The bullet visible from the outside of the ear still looks good, but the pins are what I really need to be gold. For your information.
