These are so cute & come ready to hang straight out of the box. Surprisingly lightweight yet they hold a good deal of weight. It helps to balance the weight on each shelf but that’s not too hard to do. In fact, I found the heavier I loaded them the better.Don’t be afraid to put up heavier items as I found it really helped stabilize the shelves. I have these up over one of my large computer monitors & the other with nothing but my stained concrete floors to catch them if they topple. And guess what - I’m not worried at all. Not one bit. Plus, I really tested out their stability by slamming doors, bumping the wall, I even opened the front & back door to create a vortex as part of the slam test & these babies didn’t even have a hint of sway!
