Review on White Universal Projector Ceiling Mount with 25.6 inches Extension Pole - Holds up to 44 lbs (PM-001-WHT): Multiple Adjustment Bracket for Optimal Viewing Experience by Justin Metz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best bang for the buck!

The arm is very heavy - heavier than the projector. It seems well constructed and definitely worth 5 stars for only $15! When I opened the package there were so many parts and details that I put everything away for a few days thinking it would take me forever to figure it out. I didn't even use most of the parts because they are included in the box so you can mount this thing on any size projector. If you are planning to run cables through the ceiling there is a great way to use the guide to hide the cables in the bracket. In the photos I've attached you can see that there are different sized feet, each with multiple holes. You can adjust the length to reach the brackets on the bottom of the projector. There are four legs in each of three sizes. I thought our projector was quite big but there must be bigger ones because we used three medium sized legs and only one of the longest. With a few exceptions, we followed the instructions. First, after assembly, my husband drilled a 5/32 hole through one side of both the inside and outside of the metal to act as a support so they wouldn't separate and drop the projector (while my husband was sure that it would hold, I didn't like that the only thing keeping it from falling was the tension on a screw). He then drilled an 11/64 hole through the hole he had just drilled in the outer piece of metal just to fit a tiny screw to make sure the projector couldn't fall off (I'm pointing to the spot in the photo which we added the screw). The difference in hole sizes makes it easier to line up the screw with both pieces of metal, and the inner metal hole keeps the screw in place. Second, we drilled this suction cup into a wooden beam in the attic because I don't trust drywall screws when sitting under something heavy. The last thing we did differently was use a 10mm wrench (not included) to tighten the screws after hanging the projector and prevent the projector from rocking left and right.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
