Good paper weight, good for temperature and humidity

I'm an engineer and tested this unit for accuracy by placing the probe in a thermos filled with ice and water waiting for stabilization. I tested this mix with two other gauges I have and they showed 32.0 degrees Fahrenheit and 32.3 degrees Fahrenheit, as expected. However, this meter reads 35.4 degrees Fahrenheit. This test was conducted indoors with an indoor air temperature of 76 degrees Fahrenheit. I then took the meter and thermos outside where the outside temperature was 80 degrees Fahrenheit. My other gauges still read 32.0 and 32.3 accurately, but this gauge now read 27 degrees Fahrenheit. Conclusion: The accuracy of this gauge is worse than +/-5. Degree F, which does not correspond to the specified accuracy. Also, one of the probes has an intermittent break when the wire is moved. I have not tested with this sensor. I haven't tested the accuracy at other ambient temperatures or other measurement temperatures, but I suspect the errors could be even greater than 5 degrees. Thus, this device is useless except as a toy or paper. Weight. Don't waste your money on this junk.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
