These earrings are delicate enough to be worn with loose or loose hair. I chose the rose gold finish because it frames the opal and I think makes it brighter. However, unless very close, a friend cannot see the small rhinestone; I mean it's small but I don't want it to distract from the opal. I wanted rose gold for my earrings collection. The closure is also great for cooler climates where a scarf or coat collar can push out an unlined French hook. Also, I believe that industrial opals are cold resistant, unlike organic opals which break easily in the cold and need to be stored safely. They are cute and low maintenance.
