Assembly was easy, especially compared to Ikea furniture the process is very quick and easy. Unfortunately, the screws on the bottom shelf didn't fully line up with the holes, making the bottom shelf not strong enough to hold heavier items. I think it will break eventually because it isn't screwed all the way in, and I didn't think screwing in a better hole would help - instead it would just make it worse. It's now against the wall holding the shoes and the top is perfectly aligned so we kept it. If you are looking for something stronger and more durable, this is not your shelf. But for small use and placement out of sight, that's fine. I had already almost fully assembled it when I saw it wasn't fully connected so I just left it, but won't be buying it again.
