***UPDATE 2***After emailing the seller they sent me a new mic because they wanted to make sure I was happy. Based on the way they handled this I will definitely deal with Mirkit Radio again and would highly recommend them as a seller. There are differences in the two speaker mics I received. As you can see in the attached photo, the first one has rectangles on the side of the connector and a slightly thicker wire. The new one has a thinner wire but a thicker plug and stays connected. Also, the former looks more like a tin can than a replacement. Overall I can only give the product 3 stars but the seller 5 stars. remain connected to the smaller of the two connectors. If I press the radio hard while holding it, it works, but as soon as I release it, it stops working. You can see from my previous review that I was mostly happy with the mic. That's absolutely not true. I think I don't have any money at the moment. I thought it might be the radio but my programming cable works fine and I have the same problem with both radios. ********************************************** This works like this it is should. I just think it's a bit "cheap". It's very small in the hand, like the BF-F8hp I bought it for, but the plastic feels flimsy and the button just isn't smooth. My comparison with the top line from Motorola. That's a far cry from the price of this speaker/mic, so for the price you're paying it's probably good value. I just hope it holds up over time. Sounds good for Rx and Tx so can't complain.
