Works great. I'm looking at the hard drive power button - it looks like some of the reviews apply to other devices listed as main articles. I'm using it with an Intel motherboard with onboard SATA 3 and a 500W PSU powered by 4-pin Molex connectors. I will say if you don't know what you might need it for then you might not need it. I use it to switch between different boot drives without using the boot manager. You can do this without hot-swapping SATA ports. (My Intel motherboard doesn't default to hot-swapping, but it can be changed. I have no idea about other motherboards.) I've had no issues flashing the primary drive while I like other drives during hot-swapping everyone else did. called. So far I've only used this for different versions of Linux, but this should work for everything. Note that booting one drive while the other drive is powered on and both drives think they should be the primary boot drive can cause problems. This won't damage the hardware, but, for example, the second boot drive could overwrite data on the first boot drive, making that first drive unbootable until the software is repaired. This isn't the switch's fault, it's simply due to changing hard drives. All in all, it's a much easier and safer way to power SATA drives on and off than unplugging and plugging or using media, since it doesn't wear out the sockets. It has lights to tell you which drives are active and, more importantly, handy mechanical switches to turn each drive on and off.
