Be Aware works better than expected

This is my third set of JLab wireless headphones and my first true wireless headphones. My 1st set of JLab headphones are still working after 5 years and my 2nd set are working great. Somehow I didn't pack any of the sets when I left home for a long trip, so thanks to Revain for getting it to me in one day. I've been waiting for Jlab to release the +Be Aware Dual Connection Kit. That they also have active noise cancellation is a bonus. JLab's sound quality is comparable to much more expensive kits. You'll be hard pressed to find better-sounding headphones without spending more than double what they cost. Phone calls are clear and answering/hanging up is done without drama. The double connection works perfectly. After the first pairing, you can take any earbud and it will be connected automatically. Using both options will automatically switch to stereo. With the Stay Aware feature, you can hear what's going on around you. There is plenty of room on the volume control to amplify ambient noise. If you wanted, you could use them to make someone's speech appear louder than it really is. I find that most noise-cancelling devices are of limited use when there is a good seal between the earbud and the ear. JLab has always offered a wide range of ear tips for their headphones to make them easier to fit. The noise cancellation further reduces noise during home listening tests, but I have yet to test functionality in really noisy environments like on an airplane or in a coffee shop. The headphones disappear after wearing for a while. I have yet to test the battery life, but JLab never disappoints in this regard. I expect them to survive any workout I'm physically able to. The application provides the ability to customize tap controls, equalizer, and Be Aware/ANC features. You can also update the firmware of the headphones via the app. The app starts up a bit slow, but once you've adjusted the settings to your liking, you don't need to use the app anymore except to check for updates. The headphone tap control works well, although I wish there was audio feedback for volume taps like the Be Aware/ANC control.
