So I was a bit disappointed with these chisels. I know I shouldn't be expecting much for the price, but I at least expected the teeth to be hardened steel. I wanted to test the bits before using them on one of my client projects. I had about 3 ounces of Hermann Oak scraps and ran a 10 inch stitch through them. The tips of the teeth started to curl after a few hammer hits on the leather of my Weaver cutting board. I have several expensive Japanese chisels and none have ever twisted, the teeth are hardened carbon steel. I take good care of them and keep sharpening them and they have never let me down. I'll use Yao chisels for thinner leather and see how they work. I took some photos with my phone but they didn't come out. I'll try to pick a few of the best ones and add them to my review later. These piercing irons aren't bad, but they're sure to put your skills to the test.
