Flat is great for reading pencil notes

In case you haven't noticed, pencil writing can shine in direct light and reflect light. (This is a property of graphite.) This can make pencil notes difficult to read in some lighting conditions. Many book lamps are not good for reading pencil notes because they hang over the page, shine down, and bounce off the pencil's graphite. They can cause similar reflections if the paper is glossy at all. The ribbon version of this book lamp makes reading pencil letters easier. The lighting comes from the top, side, or bottom of the page (depending on where you place it) and illuminates the page instead of shining from the top. The 3000K LED also gives off a warm glow and there are four brightness settings. The whole only weighs about 2 ounces. The spring clip is easy to use and removable - it slides off - and the lantern can be used as a bookmark or stored horizontally. The charging cable is actually a middle light strip. You can pull and slide it out of the clip, or just remove the clip. It fits into almost any standard USB charging port. A clever feature is the charge indicator light, which turns off to let you know when the flashlight is fully charged.
