Review on BINGPET Safety Cat Collar: Breakaway Adjustable Nylon Collars with Reflective Strip, Bell, Bling Paw Charm - For Truly Secure & Stylish Cats by Melissa Cunningham

I bought this for a street cat named Ty who I am now raising and working on adopting. He has to stay outside (long story), so I wanted to tag him so that city animal control doesn't take him so wildly until he's moved (I'll microchip him soon too). It sounded like a choker idea to him: the synthetic reflective blue color matched his eyes, the bell and keychain accessory were easy to remove, and I figured a tear off would be best as I don't think so he has ever worn a collar in his clothes. Life. You can see in one of the photos I've included it's VERY reflective at night (lit by an LED on my phone) which was awesome. And all other features were great. For that I gave 3 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately I had the same problem as my indoor/outdoor cat's previous Mitzi breakaway collars, namely the breakaway clasp does its job too well which is why I deducted 2 stars. Ty managed to lose his new collar in less than 36 hours and I didn't find it so it's gone. (What's the point of a cat not being able to wear a collar?) After my own cat lost her fourth and final zip-off collar (and with it her rabies tag), I finally switched her to a BingPet buckle with rubber band—it's a durable velvet with a rhinestone band, also available here at Revain - and she hasn't come home without one yet. I only wish it was made out of a reflective material like this - it would be the best of both worlds. TL; DR: I wouldn't buy again. This relief can work for cats that stay home most of the time and as a backup in case the kitten jumps out the door. But for an everyday outdoor cat collar that you really want to STAY on the cat, I would recommend one of the BingPet safety collars *with buckles* that I've bought in the past and will buy next time.
