First off, the safety features of this car seat are wonderful, and I really REALLY wanted to love it, but there were a few issues that we couldn’t get over. To begin, the seat is "memory foam” on the bottom, but for someone who lives in the cold of North Dakota for half the year the foam would become rigid and my 4-year-old was extremely uncomfortable sitting on it. Another issue that I, personally, couldn’t get over was the fact that if (and when, since we’re taking about kids here) the seat would get soiled and needed to be cleaned, you’d have to essentially take the seat apart insofar that you’d need to loosen the seat from the car’s seat, rethread the harness straps, "clean” - as best you could - the rigid memory foam, then secure it back to the car’s seat. Such an annoyance! After having to do this a couple times, I just bought the waterproof seat protector, which I thought might help with the seat’s discomfort as well as providing an easy way to clean the seat, but it proved to only be another obstacle to overcome as it continually moved around and created a bump around the harness latch at the seat’s bottom. Lastly, the shoulder straps are positioned very close to my child’s neck and would rub against her skin creating red marks. To mitigate this, we bought the additional shoulder strap pads, which seemed to fix the problem but it’s just another thing that has to be purchased separately.Like I said, I really like how this seat is solid and safe, but there are too many issues with comfortability that we couldn’t get over (previously we had a Maxi Cosi Pria 85, which was much more comfortable) and turned into a battle with my child every time she needed to ride in it.I’d recommend this to families who absolutely need to extra space for multiple car seats in the backseat and who are willing to pass up a high comfortability factor.
