Review on Se7Enline Protector A2141 A2289 A2251 by Walter Day

Great keyboard case for my new MBP with touchpad. Not sure why some reviewers have complained about it not fitting properly as mine fits perfectly. Well, as far as it goes, given the MBP's keys are pretty darn thin. The only thing I really like about this keyboard case is that it muffles a bit the loud keyboard sound you encounter on the new MBP. Key. This is useful when you're in a classroom or somewhere public or private where you don't want to make a lot of noise. For example, my wife hates it when I type on my new laptop. This cover mutes the sound quite a bit. I also love how quickly they are available and shipped. I'll get to that in a moment. The case keeps the keyboard like new (not that my hands are permanently dirty) and protects against spills, food etc etc - but you already know that. This is important to me with these new MPBs as they are not user serviceable. My last Mac, a 2010 model, was relatively easy for me to fix. For example, I've done some idiotic things like leaving an open laptop on the floor, ignoring that my dog is sitting right next to me, and decided to tap the keyboard TWICE - accidentally hitting the keys with my paws pry off ! . At least I was able to fix it myself with the old model. I'm not sure if it will happen with this one. So 1) I'm not going to leave it on the ground, and 2) if I leave this skin on the keys there is at least some protection. So those are the positives. Here are the cons. It costs about double what I found on ebay for pretty much the same product. BUT although they are cheaper on ebay, they ship from China and may take about a month to arrive. I personally would rather just pay the extra $4 to get it here quickly and support the US seller. I know they're probably made in China anyway, but hey, we need to support people in our economy who are also trying to make a living, right? Right. The other downside is that I don't know if I like that feel, rather than just bare buttons. I didn't like them at first either, but I got used to it; I now prefer the new keys to the previous ones. I hope that happens to the skin too. Oh, and not that it bothers me too much, but I don't think you see the backlit buttons too well with the skin/case. Maybe they could do a version with glow in the dark letters/numbers. In any case. Excellent keyboard skin. I hope my thoughts on this will help you make a decision.
