I'm generally happy with these shells. I like that the grille has a pull tab so you don't have to put your hands in the grille to pull it out. Some of the other reviewers have noted that the plastic trim on the front comes off easily, which is true. So far rats haven't had a problem with it so I just try to be careful when cleaning or handling it. To be honest, even if it all came out, I don't think it would really affect its functionality. The biggest problem I've found is that the part that attaches to the cage isn't actually attached to the pallet. The rats, realizing this, pushed the box away from the counter and began walking behind it. It just doesn't fit! So I decided to put some super glue on the part that attaches to the pot to keep it secure. Since then there have been no problems. Apart from that it works really great.
