So don't forget to add this, I used them to mark the lines at the beginning of the project I was about to sew. I'm new to sewing so maybe I shouldn't use this chalk, but I sewed the bodice and then washed it. Mel didn't come off! Actually it was a little faded but was smudged/bleeded around. I was very disappointed that I couldn't give the item to the person I made it for. When it comes to labeling, they do a decent job. I have to run the chalk over what I'm marking several times to sometimes see the lines. Again, I'm new to sewing so it might be me and I'm not used to using chalk. I like the thinness and size in my hand. I also like that there are multiple colors. If the marks you make aren't visible that's fine, but if you need to mark something on the outside I wouldn't use them.
