Initially, we wanted a powerful ultrasonic humidifier, since to maintain an acceptable level of humidity in our room, we need to evaporate 20-30 liters of water per day. All other options, mostly of the evaporative type, required regular and very laborious maintenance, otherwise they quickly overgrown with mucus, mold and scale. For the new humidifier, a filter with osmosis and two taps was specially installed - one of them with distilled water. In the beginning, everything went just fine - fill yourself with water 2-3 times a day and enjoy normal humidity. By the way, a jug from an obsolete kitchen jug filter is ideal for this. However, after about a month of such work, they accidentally discovered that the indoor unit, the one that is put on top of the evaporators and from which steam comes out, was simply overgrown with red slippery mold from the inside. The UV lamp, although it shines and there really is no living creatures around it, simply does not finish this block. There's a whole labyrinth inside, through which steam passes before going outside, so it grows moldy. In the end, I had to disassemble it and clean and dry it for a long time. Disassembly is not easy, a screwdriver and a knife are required. You can also easily break the latches inside. Cleaning is also not easy - to thoroughly carry it out, you need a brush, a toothbrush and a sponge, as well as laundry soap. Manufacturers clearly did not provide for the possibility of cleaning this block and did not think about how easy it is to do. Moreover, it would certainly be possible to simplify its design so that UV radiation irradiates the entire path of the vapor to the outside, then such a problem would not exist at all. As a result, we did not get the main thing from this humidifier - the ability to work for a whole season without the need for maintenance. Cleaning here is required, although less frequently than for air washer, but much more time-consuming. Otherwise, everything suits, the humidity keeps perfectly.
