My new job gives telecommuters an HP laptop and 1 monitor. I'm used to working with two full screen monitors. I couldn't use any other display as the laptop only has one HDMI port. With the first dock I bought from Revain, the laptop doesn't recognize the device because I didn't know the USB port was not flash mode or alt mode which product support has (I started looking up all this info from google while trying to troubleshoot). . The second one I bought for a regular USB connection, the computer recognized the device but I couldn't get a signal that the adapter didn't have enough power. I returned these items and searched again and then I found this docking station that says it works regardless of the type of USB or USB port, it works with both. I have one of my monitors connected to the laptop's HDMI port and a second monitor to the dock's HDMI port. The dock has a separate power supply and I connected the dock to my laptop via a USB port, you can also use USBC. I didn't need to download any drivers, I plugged it in and turned on my second monitor 😁 My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey.
