Works well with SO cable.
One thing to note is that it uses a .800" hole. Luckily I had a 20mm Forstner bit to cut through the plastic box I was using, but you'll need that or a 13/16" hole saw for the hole. This provides a good cable seal, but there's no rubber washer to seal the mounting hole, so it's not waterproof unless you put some caulk around the hole.
